COMPASS DAY

Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex. It takes a touch of genius and a lot of courage to move in the opposite direction.

Albert Einstein

“Wrong Way” Corrigan leaves New York’s Bennet Field on this day in 1938 as he attempts to fly non-stop to Los Angeles. Corrigan reads the wrong end of his compass needle and, without a radio or navigational equipment, lands twenty-eight hours and 3150 miles later in Dublin, Ireland! Have you checked your compass today to see if you are heading in the right direction?

Edward Hays

How many of us really know which direction we are heading? With the state of the globe right now, it is so easy to lose track of any goals we had set for ourselves to achieve in this very strange focal year, 2020. We may have had aspirations, but the grey clouds of things out of our control became a part of life, the “new norm” terminology that I have developed much disdain for. Why is that?

The important thing isn’t that we have lost our way so much as it is thinking that we need to control the outcome. Life doesn’t work that way… So many of us forget that we have the ability to make lemonade out of lemons!!

So, what are you drinking today? Whatever it is, it doesn’t have to be sour or bitter…

ADD SOMETHING SWEET! It is ALWAYS what YOU make of it!! (((CHEERS)))

For those of us that do like to plan, organize, set goals? The following video may help us trust our compasses in life by teaching us how. SMART goals are a common concept in the manufacturing industry but can be modified to use as a tool on a personal level. BE SURE TO REWARD YOURSELF for all accomplishments, and don’t minimize your efforts. (((WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER)))
