When studying Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), I learned a whole new level of “where focus goes, energy flows”. I have always believed in the human ability to implement change for the positive or negative… but never realized the who/what/where/when/why of the process. Social media is simply TOXIC in terms of all the adverse things happening right now that are out of our control. We get so involved with “numbers” and “happenings” that it seems the vast majority of folks have simply lost their path to gratitude, forgetting that many purposeful events can be created right in front of them! Is this what we want our “new norm” to be?

“Where focus goes, energy flows. What you focus on, you feel.” The power of focus affects all aspects of your life. You can focus on goals at work, in your relationships or on personal goals like fitness and emotional health – and you can manifest those goals into being.

so please realign your focus with what is?

But Kristen, how do I do that? I don’t even know what I have control over any more!! The good news? You always have control over your mindset and there are lots of ways to get that naughty little negative bias news saturated subconscious of ours back on track, we just need to help it! Even though I prefer to listen and problem solve with you, if you don’t have $$ to book a walk/talk therapy with me, you are not powerless…

That’s right, click the image above for suggestions on how to start a daily intention journal. In addition to what the link suggests, I recommend that every morning when you wake up and every night before falling asleep, recite affirmations that negate any limiting beliefs that you might have (in my therapy sessions, I can teach you how to identify those). Your subconscious mind doesn’t know what you are focusing on isn’t happening so why not plant what you want in there vs. the negativity of our current social media feed? This process can move our thinking from survival mode to empowerment and fulfillment… All it takes is

  • a willing attitude and
  • that first step!

Come on… Let’s give it a go!!
