Today’s blog is one for sharing authenticity. I disappeared for a bit because of feelings of being overwhelmed which prompted me to pause my gratitude journaling and blogging and guess what happened… I CRASHED!! Then the silly things that happen everyday got to me. I’m sure many of us have had feelings;

  • of being undervalued,
  • that we are doing too much, and
  • that life is spiraling out of control…

If I don’t get a grip on it quick? My fibromyalgia kicks in and has a go… By the time all is said and done we are physically ill and emotionally drained from it all. But you know what? We are human…

For a super funny video on how to deal with life when it gets tough, I recommend “Super Sheep” with Ken Davis.

Sheep we are… following each other around in whatever state our mindset leads us, if we let it. We let our subconscious “id” convince us what is primal is important. A proverbial monkey on the shoulder that picks and picks and picks at our brains until we become irritable and vulnerable. We give it a permanent seat on our shoulder (insert negative news, social media and other circumstances beyond our control as an example here) and start believing the chatter and screaming.

I don’t know about any of you? SAMWISE was definitely my favorite hero in the Lord of the Rings. Like Samwise, our conscious has to rescue us from our Gollum (the little dude that only thinks of self) time and again. Today is definitely a time of egoic struggle… Whether we want to believe that all are spoiled in the self or that the world really is coming to an end… There is still good news in that we were also given a conscious (super ego). That still voice inside of all us that knows right from wrong also;

  • reassures us that things won’t be bad forever…
  • encourages us to keep going…
  • helps us focus day by day, hour by hour…

Sometimes even minute by minute on what is GOOD about things.

Click image for that rainbow of hope that God promised after the rain…

So if you find your ego aloof… Listen to your super ego and tell the id to take a hike.

I know it’s hard, but you have to find a way to get back up and fill your cup.
